From a rescue excavation towards an internationally award-winning archaeological project: Alsónyék in Southern Hungary, 5800-4400BCE. Delivered by Professor Eszter Bánffy
Professor Bánffy has been President of the European Association of Archaeologists since 2021.
As well as working in the Institute of Archaeology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, she is a professor supervising Ph.D. students at two universities: ELTE Budapest and SZTE Szeged.
In 2017 she was elected to the British Academy. In 2013 she started to work as the director of the Romano-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute, in Frankfurt.
