Annaba studied her BA in Archaeology and Irish Folklore at UCD, where she later undertook an MA in Archaeology. She studied for her PhD at Reading University.
She has worked for the Archaeological Survey of the OPW, the Stadtarchaeologie Wien, Margaret Gowen and Company, Sligo IT (now ATU).
Annaba has worked for the Discovery Programme on both the Lake Settlement Project and the Barrow Valley Project.
