New images of the megalithic art at the Dowth Hall Passage Tomb to mark the Winter Solstice
To mark the Winter Solstice we have released a new collection to our Sketchfab account “The Megalithic Art of Dowth Hall”.
The collection displays the Megalithic Artwork found at the Dowth Hall Passage Tomb rediscovered in 2017 in Brú na Bóinne Co. Meath. The tomb and the megalithic art within it, are amongst the most significant discoveries in the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site in the last 50 years.
At least one-third of the surviving structural stones, including chamber orthostats and kerbstones, were decorated with megalithic art, similar to that found in the nearby passage tombs at Knowth and Newgrange.
The Discovery Programme created six 3D models of the Megalithic artwork which you can now view on our Sketchfab page here.
