Martin Doody Lecture 2016
A lecture in honour of Martin Doody, the former Director of the Ballyhoura Hills Project and organised by The Discovery Programme will take place on 12 December 2016 at 6pm. The lecture entitled ‘I can see clearly now….’ Solar symbolism in the Early Bronze Age will be present by Mary Cahill, Keeper of Irish Antiquities, National Museum of Ireland will take place in the Helen Roe Theatre, 63 Merrion Square.
The lecture will be followed by a reception.
‘Martin Doody, a graduate of archaeology from University College Cork, was the Project Director of the Discovery Programme’s Ballyhoura Hills Project from 1992 to 2002. He published The Ballyhoura Hills Project (Discovery Programme Monograph No. 7) in 2008, a masterly study of the archaeology and landscape of a region on the borders of Cos Cork and Limerick and in west Tipperary.
