Job Vacancy – Collections Manager (Part-Time) (CLOSED)

The Discovery Programme: Centre for Archaeology Innovation Ireland is seeking to fill the post of Collections Manager Officer (Part-Time).

The successful candidate will have a lead role in the management of the Discovery Programme’s collections of archaeological objects including ecofacts such as animal bone, soil samples and similar material. These collections arise from past and ongoing research, survey and excavations. The primary focus of activities for the Collections Manager will be processing assemblages from past excavation and field projects involving finds retrieval. These collections are yet to be deposited in the National Collections or other locations as appropriate. They include:

  • The Medieval Rural Settlement Project
  • The Lake Settlement Project
  • Other smaller-scale projects

Nature of Employment: This is a part-time (0.6 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)) fixed term and fixed purpose appointment for up to 36 months (subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period).
Salary: In the region of €21,679.20 – €25,453.20 per annum (that is, 0.6 of an FTE salary at Point 3 – Point 5 Archaeologist Scale 65175(3), with annual increments, pro rata, on that scale on satisfactory performance in post)
Current Location: Merchants House, 27 – 30 Merchants Quay, D08 K3KD, Ireland.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer or their nominee
